AHIG is decent. Some great songs — the opener slays.

, No Long For This World its one of their best songs in a long time, like really really good

Yeah agreed. Best song on the album imo. Would def make top 10 Slipknot songs for me.

It’s not far behind imo. But certainly not better.

This is good, but it's not *that* close imo. Iowa's grown on me a lot lately, so it's kind of annoying that they couldn't keep up that level of aggression on any of their future releases

Also, I listened to AHIG and it fucking sucked. Aside from the title track it may as well have been a stone sour album

butt.

I dunno, AHIG is disappointing but I don’t think it’s bad. Like a 3.5. The Grey Chapter is the one that kinda sucks —2.5/3 area.

idk man, I really, *really* didn't like it. Everything about it sounded weaker, the songs sounded phoned in, there were less good riffs, it wasn't as heavy. Also there were too many melodic tracks, I don't really listen to Slipknot for that, it's not what they're good at. There were bright spots, but most of it I found legitimately irritating. I'd much rather listen to the gray chapter

butt.

Gray chapter is honestly awesome, I’m surprised people trash on it so much. I go back and forth between whether I prefer WANYK or Gray Chapter

All Hope is Gone is so average that it doesn't even exist to me aside from like 3 tracks. Gray Chapter is a two-pack of ass. This album is a step back in the right direction.

Gray Chapter production is horrendous and kills a lot of the tracks for me, zero punch on the guitars.

Gray chapter mix is really wimpy, def their worst record and Gematria is one of their best tracks

First three tracks off The Grey Chapter slay though, especially Sarcastrophe— one of their best songs imo.

I remember enjoying The Gray Chapter loads when it came out honestly. I remember the first few tracks being good too, AOV holds up in my memory really well too.

Yeah there's still some good songs on it but compare it to AHIG especially sonically and it's clear to me ahig towers over it.

I disagree. Everything about AHIG sounds weaker than all their other stuff, production included.

Corey's vocals are so much more powerful on AHIG, instrumentals sound more vicious, landslide for me

Peak Corey lyrically and Vocally was iowa
