Listened to it twice so far. The songwriting is definitely a step up from P3. Reptile is nicely paced and doesn't drag.

I agree somewhat. I don't think Dream Theater is bad, but their stuff kinda bores me.

The main issue I've always had with Dream Theater is that while they've always been pretty technically stellar (sans LaBrie) their music just doesn't catch me in the same way a band like this does.
