^Agreed. It looks like this is a true return to form -- which was absolutely unimaginable after Panorama dropped. Imagine hearing Landlord or ECF for the first time on release day! This rollout just neutralizes all the hype and suspense. I still think this album will bring some old fans back, but the shock and excitement that could've happened on release day won't happen now.

especially after SUCH a long break. it feels episodic.

I listened to the first four tracks they released off the new album back when they first released them, had no idea they had released basically the entire album by now. Dumb, dumb. Hate that shit. Glad I didn’t know. I can wait five more days for the rest. I like how Deftones only released the two singles before release. This new way of “releasing” albums sucks.

haven't listened to anything since IV came out (and haven't listened to IV) excited for the back half and to hear all of these incredible songs again with full context. AOTY incoming. I just can't picture it any other way.
plan is to def listen on a walk too, so that'll be fun. haven't done that for a new album since Foxing - s/t, so like a year ago?!?!
