The fact that a new interview comes out almost everyday where Spencer has to defend this album is pretty sad.

This is legit some of the most awful music I've ever heard. And I've heard Opeth.

From https://www.upsetmagazine.com/features/underoath-may-2018/
"This is the best version of Underoath,” he states. “Is it going to be your favourite version of Underoath? I don’t think we really care. If you loved ‘Chasing Safety’ or ‘Define The Great Line’ when they came out, you probably don’t listen to that stuff anymore."
I am listening to DTGL as I'm reading this, Spencer

Disambiguation is the closest to a 5 for me, other two are solid 4.5s tho

Is the rest of this album like On My Teeth because I actually thought that song was ok but this avg. is scaring me

No On My Teeth is much heavier than the rest of the album. There's a few other songs with some bite like Sink With You and Hold Your Breath, but overall it's a tame boi

That's such an oddly dismissive thing to say to the original fans that still make up a bulk of the fanbase. Its fine to want fans to be open to artistic maneuvering, but to discredit their adoration of the original records that, like it or not have become a basis of comparison, is just silly. I wish Spencer would just stop saying things tbh

I hate when bands say stuff like that. I get that you want to evolve as an artist but come on.
Reminds me of a mewithoutYou show where someone in the crowd was yelling for something from their first album and Aaron said "We're not that band anymore." And then three tracks later they played Silencer.

How are the rest of the band letting him say shit like this? Spencer needs to shut the fuck up.

ProjectFreak I’m pretty sure Aaron Weiss was joking when he said it, I mean they did an A to B Life your not long after

spencer clearly knows what he's saying is incorrect. he's defending his giant turd bc he's scared to admit it's a turd
