yeah I can see why, I have been really appreciating more shoe/dreamgaze sounds lately so it fits right in

Everything from this album had so much energy live, Oiseaux de proie in particular. Originally rated that song below the other main ones on this but I just don't know anymore, they're all so solid

Glad to hear, man. Every track they played from this resonated so well live. Just a fantastic release supported by a fantastic live band. Neige live is otherworldly.

It's okay and nice to see at least. I feel like breaking a 4 on Sput with multiple albums is a bit of an accomplishment. Crazy to see some bands have 3+ albums over 4 ratings.

12 records, 5 of which are 3.7 or under, still has an average rating of about 3.9.
Including every release documented on sput (24 releases), total average rounds up to a 4.0.
Aware that it isn't exactly accurate considering some of those releases have practically no votes but still. An impressive (if not a little rocky, presently) career to say the least.

I feel like if there was a way to accurately depict the "best *metal* band alive" the way you kind of can for "best rapper alive" at any given time, opeth would have that title for a legit ten straight years. Really only Mastodon could have challenged during their incredible 3 album run. And then, as is done in rap, Opeth would have a legitimate and honest argument for the GOAT.

@Crypto, what got me thinking about impressive ratings is Neurosis. 7 straight 4+ albums on Sput. Jesus fuck.

There's a certain amount of hyperbole behind that one in my opinion. I love Neurosis but...

Coroner is pretty impressive with their 4/5 hit rate (and the only exception being close)

Chevelle is the most consistent band on Sputnik I think.
