This is far and away his worst album.
Yeezus tears this to shreds.

this album is 'the chronicles of a celebrity on the deep end who doesnt know what the fuck he is doing and needs help and wont be getting it because the internet thinks hes a hardcore memer (wake me up inside edition)"

i risk sounding cliche or fanboyish or pretentious or all of the above but yeezus is misunderstood in large part
its at minimum an example of fantastic production

that's kind of the only thing this has going for it, an ego maniac that sounds like he's lost touch with what he once was. production, writing, all so down hill and he reps it like its his best work. the work of a truly delusional man that lives on another planet

The first sentence Brainmelter said is basically what I think Yeezus is as a whole, but the album sounds like that is what Kanye was trying to convey with it.

"a celebrity on the deep end who doesnt know what the fuck he is doing and needs help"
That's exactly what he wants you to think tho. After all, it's gotten you lot talking about him. Same thing with him appearing on Ellen and going on a big stream-of-consciousness tangent of half-thoughts comparing himself to Steve Jobs and Picasso n shit. Everyone is so quick to jump on him like "lol Kanye is so stupid he called himself the Michael Jackson of apparel and won't release CDs anymore what a dumbass" and then you read in the headlines stuff like "Life of Pablo: First album to go No. 1 due to streaming; Tidal revenue skyrockets"
Smartest thing Kayne ever did was fooling the masses into thinking he's an idiot who got lucky, he knows exactly what he's doing.

id agree with that if this was 2008 and he was still writing songs like Big Brother and Cant Tell Me Nothing that actually showed his public image was a facade, but ever since Yeezus the mans been an unstable basket case and I really, highly doubt its some artistic expression that kanye fans try to contribute it as.
one of these days the man will prolly be found dead after an overdose and people will still try to write it off as artistic.

I mean say what you want about this album or his music in general but the guy is a master provocateur

that ellen interview is fucking hilarious, he definitely was on some sort of psychedelics during that

there is a clear lack of focus and direction here, a lack of effort, but there is certainly artistic merit to yeezus IMO

I'm just happy that Ellen interview happened because it gave us this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jdwhKRZuBw
