Yeah Con I had my official move in a couple days ago (I had already been on campus 5 nights in temporary housing for a pre-orientation program), I was fine for most of the day but when I said goodbye to my parents... Jesus Christ I was not prepared for that moment.
And like it's kinda silly because school is only 30 miles from home so I'm going to see my family quite a bit still but the feelings were still super intense.

yeah I totally get that it's really intense.
it's more than just parents though for me like I'm starting to realize the older and older I get, the harder and harder it is gonna be for me to stay close to people I love back at home. this summer I was lucky enough to be able to stay home so I got to see a lot of people but I can't help but think as I say goodbye to these people when and if I'll see them again and it's so hard.
also when im at home i can just feel the sadness from my parents, especially my mom and it's just heartbreaking idk
sorry its not even a big deal like ik it's not the end of the world but it's just tough for me

Yeah Con it's not just parents for me either but that moment, after my old world and my new had intersected for a day, the departure had a sense of finality to it that applied to all my relationships back home.
