Damn they are nasty af on this one. Already loved RTJ1 but this improves their music in almost every way possible. The inclusion of a few more melodic choruses really helped the diversity of the record

Blankets and pillow torchin', where the fuck the warden?
And when you find him, we don't kill him, we just waterboard him
We killin' 'em for freedom cause they tortured us for boredom
And even if some good ones die, fuck it, the Lord'll sort 'em

2020 has been kinda lacking for rap music, but that might be changing now that Freddie Gibbs dropped and RTJ4 comes out in a week.
|
| |
There has been tonnes of good, overlooked "rap music" this year.
|
| |
Got a rec from this year that’s in a bit of a political direction?
|
| |
Political? Hmm, nothing jumps to mind, let me think on that
I wouldnt say any of my favs so far have been overtly political, or at least enough so that I've taken note
|
| |
I need the angry shit.
|
| |
Ankhlejohn always sounds angry and his recent album mahamudra is good
|
| |
I really dislike his voice.
You know what I look for? I like Madlib’s music but not really into Freddie Gibbs’ voice. So I need Madlib music with more mellow rapping
|
| |
dude listen to madvillian
|
| |
I think I did once, perhaps time for another go
|
| |
Yeah I dont like Gibbs's voice either. It's a shame madlib chose him of all people to work with so prominently these days
|
| |
their best still. unbeaten
