not even close imo, definitely from a melodic perspective. its kinda like fortress only without any effort, bad lyrics, horrendous vocal melodies, boring/stale riffs etc u know

The lyrics are fine, they're just dripping with humor, satire, and sarcasm. And the music is always moving forward or changing so I don't see how one could view it as stale.

Well they attempt humour and sarcasm but fail massively and annoy me. Kezia is brilliant lyrically. Im a huge fan of non repeating crazily melodic metal like Unexpect and Btbam, but the difference here is the riffs sound half assed and fail to carry the songs for me. They did it perfectly on Fortress, with riffs that go great with the songs and other melodies and help 'carry the tune' but on here they seem mostly pointless and seem dull and lacking. However, none of that applies to C'est La Vie and Termites, which are both incredibly awesome songs. Termites even has some great lyrics in it.

They just make fun music now. Sure, Kezia is somewhat serious, but they've abandoned that approach for a long time now.

thats not my main concern at all though. the worst thing here is Rody's uninspired annoying melodies. He was inventive and catchy as fuck on Kezia and Fortress. All the songs were addictive not only for their technicality and interesting guitar parts, but because of how well Rody helped tie the songs together with awesome melodies. Songs like "The Reign of Unending Terror" make me question how he was ever so awesome on the previous two records. The vocal melody for that song is atrocious.
