Can someone explain to me what makes this albums dubstep? I've always understood dubstep as being a dumb form of club music/EDM mostly focused on EPIC DROPS but this sounds nothing like that.
I'm not trolling, I'm genuinely curious.

as i understand it: dubstep = dub + two-step
this is both -- the 'jockstrap' dubstep (as deviant. calls it) is just one brand of the whole genre

edit: dub did indeed come from dub reggae, but now it's mostly just its' own genre, with its' own sound

Lol I'm mostly joking, the reason I don't listen to metal and electronic is because they suck :-P
Why not consider a paragon of a genre as something you could enjoy for its own merits, regardless of its introduction to others like it?
