And there are some lyrics I really like on here (like those on Mr Self Destruct, Heresy and Reptile), but damn they get cringeworthy at points



I do love this album, but the adolescent emo bullshit peppered throughout means it'll never be a classic for me

@Rowan I see this album as a diary of his thoughts, totally uninhibited and unabridged. imo the sexual deviancy on Closer and Big Man With a Gun goes perfectly hand-in-hand with all the other talk of suicide, drugs, violence whatever

Big Man with a Gun is my least favorite on here, but I think Closer is an essential track.

I love Big Man With a Gun because it's just so fucking angry. I know what you mean Poly but imo the sexual theme is explored so much better on Reptile than on Closer

Exactly. I know that the song is desperation for sex on the surface. But, it's not a sexually arousing song. It's pathetic. It's much more desperation than sex.
