I find it really hard to "get" Godspeed. I have F#A# and Yanqui U.X.O., but haven't listened to Yanqui much yet. I'm not really feeling the whole "movements" thing, they don't seem to flow together or build up anywhere to me (you must really dislike me now Knott-). Sometimes I've listened and have enjoyed it quite a bit, so maybe it's a mood thing. Is it worth me buying this as a last ditch effort to "get" Godspeed?

Sure, let's just call everything we don't like or feel comfortable with pretentious.
The atmosphere is extremely heavy and dark. They kind of take you to this apocalyptic and hopeless world. And just when you get used to it they punch you in the face with some of the most beautiful and breathtaking melodies.
