Nowhere near as inspiring and awesome as De-loused. I think someone else said this but, when it's good it's fantastic, when it's bad, it's fucking boring and pretentious.
You have to wade through so much distorted synth and background noise to find the truly great songs that it almost isn't worth the wait; Miranda is brilliant and haunting but is a three minute song at best, yet it clocks in at 13:10. Cygnus is superb but the final breakdown is again too long. The first part of Cassandra Gemini is perfect, the rest are mixed in quality, the Widow is very good but should be three-four minutes long and L' VIA L' VIAQUEZ is addictive but to repetitive.
Still a great album, one of my favourites; found at the centre of dull sounds.
That being said, "She was a mink handjob in sarcophagus heels..." just genius.

Being truly honest overall this album is shit. HOWEVER track no 2 The Widow is bloody brilliant. Track 1 and 3 are passable. But the rest is just noise. Pretensious gets used alot to describe this band and its obvious why which is a real shame as the widow song shows what they are truly capable of when they stop masterbating with there egos.
