I think it is one of the major mistakes in pop culture to be referring in the context of the best Sigur Ros album to "Agaetis Byrjun", while this other album is also a classic it is just so clear for me that this takes all the cake because while on Agaetis you might skip here and there a song here on ( ) you have it in the whole glory, the 1st soft half and the tough 2nd half. There is not one weak spot and also the order is so fluently and follows one big theme/atmosphere-> this kind of sleepwalking looking on beautiful landscape that is undescribable.
I would go even this far: It is one of the major mistakes in pop culture to say "the white album" and refer to the Beatles album, while this "White" album also takes the cake in that case, saying this while i do am in awe of Yoko and John giving the Beatles more of an experimental touch and releasing one of the major 8 LPlers of all time.
Having said this, let the apart-relationship in the fan circles of Sigur Ros grow simmilar to the one of the Radiohead-Kid A against Radio-OK Computer fan circles! Sorry, but i am just very strict with this, even though Agaetis is my clear choice for the 2nd best Album of Sigur Ros.

I can't really split the two personally. Agaetis has the better songs, but this flows better as a collective piece.

I brought this album into school today to play during ceramics class and it's currently in the process of getting cut short (I had to skip Untitled 5 through 7). I mean, why listen to this when you can listen to radio-grade country, right?

Untitled 5 is decisively the best track here and Untitled 6 is either 2nd or 3rd best. Come at me.

Agreed that Untitled 5 is awesome sauce but not that it's the best thing on here. That'd be Untitled 8 IMO

8 is best, followed by 1 and 3 for me.

I can distinguish the first half easily, but 5-7 kinda blur together in a weirdly awesome way. perfect zone out album clim.

oh sweet. every now and then you need those sunshine happiness vibes I guess, and Go is the personification of those. raftraumur from the new album emobodies those feelings of unbridled euphoria perfectly as well.

yeah the new album is most similar to jonsi than anything else they've done. glad they are experimenting and stuff because an attempt to recreate this album would be zzzzz, album is untouchable

best part about sr is that they aren't content to stay the same, they adapt and change with each new release.
still can't split this, agaetis and takk though. each are perfect for different moods ya know?
