Not fond of Dream Oblivion or The Fatalist, but Surface the Infinite and At the Point of Ignition slay. The other ones you named along with In My Absence are all great.

The bonus songs def rule, those were on the Zero Distance EP as well. Songs like To Where Fires Cannot Feed are fantastic. I think if songs like "Shadow in Our Blood" and "The Fatalist" were replaced by those, the album as a whole would be much better.

As far as standouts on Construct, stuff like Immemorial, The Silence in Between, Endtime Hearts, Science of Noise, Apathetic, and None Becoming are all standouts imo. I dig State of Trust and What Only You Know a lot too.

Yeah I actually dig Construct more than I remembered, it's Atoma that I'm not as fond of

Atoma grew off me a bit tbh. I still love some songs like Force of Hand, When the World Screams, Our Proof of Life, Caves and Embers etc. but a lot of the others grew off me a bit. Strangely The Pitiless grew on me though, even though I used to think it was one of the weakest songs on that album.

The keyboard makes this album imo. Without them I don't think younger me would have ever gotten into this album and by extention the band.

I'd agree with that on most weeks but Character is my current favorite DT. I'm spinning it almost every day nowadays

the most iconic thing about this band is how they end sentences with the word "not" for shock value

For some reason this is one of the quintessential gym bands for me.

Misery's Crown might be one of the most "optimistic" sounding metal songs I've ever heard lol. Maybe not so much in the lyrics department but something about the chorus always lifts my mood.

I've always found this/DD/etc. to be fairly unique. It's unmistakably DT -- I don't see the SotS comparison at all.

The only thing this and SOTS have in common is that they’re both melodeath lol.
