I totally get why that is the case.

For me, it's the perfect Autumn record. I seriously can't think of a better album to bump during the fall.

There's a few albums that are perfect for fall, but yeah this is at the top with Bergtatt and some Drudkh.

Same here, I see people saying this is a winter album a lot, but I get much more of an autumn feeling when listening to it.

Well yeah but those two just make this album what it is. As Amphoteric said the clean/acoustic guitar piece in As Embers Dress the Sky is the best thing I've heard in metal bar none.

Dead Winter Days and As Embers are my favorite yeah. The opening trilogy is fantastic too it's just all so good.

The intro of The Melancholy Spirit is probably my favorite moment other than the entirety of Embers.

Agreed hard. There's just so many standouts on this I think it gets lost in the mix.

There isn't a weak moment on this entire album.. even the production is perfect for the kind of sound they were going for. Another thing I don't get is when I see people complain about the production, if it was any cleaner I think it would lose a lot of its emotional/human characteristic and charm, which is a big part of the experience this album delivers for me.

I even love the similar kind of production the "Of Stone, Wind and Pillor" EP had, it's just a perfect fit for this kind of sound.

the whole I SAW THE NIGHTFALL thing is hilarious and the album's weakest moment but it's still a hard 5/5
