this is their best, distinctly yet not significantly – their early catalogue was extremely consistent before jumping off a cliff

This is probably the only album I like from these guys as an album. Otherwise they're all too inconsistent.



Everything from Subterranean to a Come Clarity is a 3 or 3.5, barring Soundtrack which obviously sucks. Afterwards they definitely fell off a cliff.



I sometimes find albums like Colony or Clayman are a bit overrated and Reroute a bit underrated. At the time Reroute annoyed me because of how it was adopting trends from the mainstream bands at the time, but looking back it's got some good material on it.

lol my sweet shadow and quiet place where my introduction to them I dont think i can ever hate them, but overall its a weak ass album. Cloud connected was another one that got me hooked onto metal in general really

I gotta give it to My Sweet Shadow; that song has some kind of strange atmosphere that makes it somewhat catchy and charming. The vox are completely awful, there are no interesting instrumental parts...yet there's something about that song and I can't quite explain what it may be.

Anyhow, Jester Race is In Flames' masterpiece imo and for me their only full length I love as a whole. The following 2-3 albums have a couple of solid songs, but I never feel the need to revisit those albums.

I think I actually dig the us of eletronics in that song along with a few others of theres to some degree. Yeah Anders vocals became ridiculously weak around Reroute to Remain and for the most part have remained that way ever since .



tbh i very rarely ever spin in flames anymore i might need to give this another go who knows i may even bump my rating in light of how far they've fallen
