Chuckles grown on you? Impossible! Apart from The Ornament, everything there is an atrocity! Pariah has a 3.6 average here? I find that laughable.

Ugh Chuckles hurts my insides. I remember Pariah trying too hard to be El Cielo but I don't really remember it that well to be honest.

I know, I know...It was even hard for me to write that Chuckles has grown on me, I absolutely hated it when I first heard it. I still think its incredibly sub par for Dredg, but I can actually listen to a few songs now and be ok with them.

Yeah, he should. It isn't anything like El Cielo really. A lot less dreamy and a lot poppier. It blends the progressive and poppy elements to perfection. Listen to Gathering Pebbles or Cartoon Showroom for a start. I think the 2nd half of that album destroys the first.

As for Chuckles, I can't really enjoy anything from there apart from The Ornament. It has zero potential to grow on me. There are many albums that I love now but didn't enjoy at first but there was always something that drew me back to them. Chuckles has nothing.

The Pariah had some good songs on it, but it really did feel a bit like it was trying to capture what they did on El Cielo without being able to reach it.

They are both "concept" albums, so they are both telling a story and in that way kind of structured the same...
