I love this album even more for convincing me to check out Aaron Turner's other work. Isis - Panopticon is beautiful.

Celestial, Oceanic and Panopticon are perfect, my favorite 3 album run in post-metal. Having said that, this album keeps growing on me, a bump to 4.5 is around the corner.

Yes! It felt a little uncomfortable to me at first listen, like for the first 10 seconds or so, then I heard what he was saying and I was like "fr fr" and then the Mirror Deep riff hit and I completely lost my shit. Amazing intro

My sentiments exactly. Of course, it’s not only referring to politics and the world at large, but the band itself being torn wide open those some years back, only to reform like a phoenix from the ashes.
