Then tried the previous record and couldn't be arsed going all the way but might try again.

Their previous one grew on me a fair bit. Had to try a couple times to get through it in one sitting too actually, found it a bit homogenous at first (and in some ways it still kinda is, but it's a very consistent record at least)

The more I've listened to this the more "meh" I am on it. Just about every song sounds too samey.
