Honestly man, check out Lateralus and 10,000 days. When I used to be crazy over this band them albums blew my mind. Looking back they are still amazing albums, but there is just something about this album that makes it... perfect -to me anyway.



Lat and 10k are the easier listenings, but there is a lot more deeper thought put into Aenima I think. You can sit there musing over this record for hours.



Shame the fuckers have only released 1 ep and 4 albums in their 3 1/2 decade career. I fell a bit tired of just hearing the 4 albums over and over.

10000 days does sound rather similar to Lateralus though, Danny even re-uses some fills.

But I don't see how this and Lateralus sound similar.

Also I think Lateralus is the harder listen, if only because it's songs are generally longer.

Really? I always thought the sounds were a lot easier to diguest, even if they were long tracks. There is something very dark and sinister with Aenima which felt missing on the last two. I know Aenima took me longer to get into. Just me though.



You're right though, the last two are very similar. But as said before, if you have the perfect formular why change? haha

Aye. But I think if you find a track you like, that's just the start. The story of the band is very appealing to me too. Some find it pertentious, but I find it a step out from the normality of most bands.
