The 2010s trilogy is incredible, as good as the streak of amazing albums by Pink Floyd in the 70s, but even more massive (each album is 2 hours long). I have a slight preference for To Be Kind and The Glowing Man personally, but The Seer is fantastic too.

I listened to this the other day and it was way better than I remembered. Will have to re-examine that rating.

I loved The Seer and this didn't live up. It wasn't as "exciting" to me. I prob listened to it 2-3x in 2014 and then maybe 1x in 2015, never could remember much from it. Now I feel pretty differently, sounds amazing.

I'd still say The Seer is better...something about the atmosphere on that one that is just unmatched levels of creep and depravity.

this is a different beast, direction-wise
it's floaty yet assertive
seer is indeed gira's modern horror rock show
I like both a lot

I do too, now. It's kind of a shame I dismissed this for so long. The production here is out of this world. So many cool little details I missed the first time around.

Landlord gifted me a 2014 copy of this they had sitting around, finally listening, absolutely immaculate pressing.
|
| |
Is that landlord a mate ‘landlord’ or a proper landlord who is probably a massive bell?

there are no mate landlords in england
|

Landlord as in mooching off someone for discount board (lodging)
|

So a bit of both @zak

returning thoughts oooh how exciting:
- Bring the Sun peaks early baby
- She Loves Us/Kirsten Supine defs the best 1-2 in nu-Swans?
- Natalie Neal is a decent track but also exactly the point where this album becomes Too Long
- JUST A LITTLE BOY vox is some crackhouse Roger Waters shit

crackhouse roger waters is a tautological descriptor, you can do better than that
