me at 12 years old, discovering heavy music for the first time: "holy shit this is amazing"
me at 18 years old, discovering music criticism and deeply entrenched in online music culture: "uhhh this is actually generic tripe and it sucks"
me, today, at 26 years old, having fucking gotten over myself: "holy shit this is amazing"

I can really relate to that Ignimbrite. Same goes for many nu-metal albums from that time. Shits just fun as hell to listen to, don't care what anyone says.

I wish I could agree, but I overlistened to this and Meteora when I was 13 and I haven't enjoyed them the same since

What a shame She Couldn't didn't make the cut. It stands above everything else and would have been a good addition.
It's also pretty apparent there was a discussion pre-Hybrid Theory that said "Less Mike, more Chester"

I really want Mike Shinoda to do this again. They're all still capable, they don't need a singer. Shinoda rapping works well enough alone. God knows it'll probably end up like the Hunting Party but if it were to happen now's the time.
Also, So Far Away is killer.

Honestly Chester seemed the type of guy who would rather they grab a new vocalist and form a new band. It would basically be just Linkin Park but a different name.
I could imagine him saying something along the lines of "Don't use the LP name without me, but don't stop making our kind of music."

Agreed, Chester was an integral part of the band so an new LP album without him would be just wrong

At the same time though, I think it would be a great idea to just grab all the original band members and make a new band with a new vocalist, and just make the same kind of music.

Im not sure this type of music would fly in 2021 but idk

Tbh Bennington was the only thing that made this band even slightly noteworthy and I can't imagine an album by these guys without him being anything but a total snore
That said, I hope shinoda and the rest of the band keep gettin that bread, maybe tour around with someone who can do a similar vocal style like what Queen did with Adam Lambert
