he released a Bliss Signal album last year which had elements of black metal to it, so it might seem that he's getting back his metal vibes. Doesn't really matter what name a new album comes under if it still sounds like AoP imo. But since he was a main songwriter it could potentially be released under this moniker anyway, so who knows.

What the fuck. I just googled "Bliss Signal" out of curiosity and it's a collaboration with MUMDANCE ? I'm extremely hooked

Well the way I see it, if you're coming from a black metal background and you're used to the meandering song structures and melodicism of their previous works then it's going to be a bit of a surprise, and similarly if you're coming from mainly electronic or Post metal background it's gonna be much unlike anything you would've come across either.

For me at least, I didn't appreciate the nuances and creativity until my 3rd or so listen w/ a good pair of bass boosting earphones, and it absolutely raped me.

obviously there are stranger hybrids like VEGA, igorrr, whourkr, but I'm still amazed that this album works as well as it does

That trance-like sequence in A Remedy and a Fever is bad-ass.
