Absolutely. I might have to jam it this morning, as it's really rainy outside right now

As i grow older i have an urge to disown the musical taste of my 13-year old self who thought this album was the best thing ever
But the problem is, this is actually just incredibly good haha
One thing i notice now that I didn't back then is that the best thing about this album is the musicianship of the band. This feels even more like a band album than some Porcupine Tree records tbh, and without the personality of the other musicians it would be much less fun to listen to
The same goes for Hand Cannot Erase, and I think that's why To the Bone sounds kind of dull in comparison (not to mention the newer stuff)

I love TtB and it sounds just as much like a band effort to me, just not nearly as proggy. Hoping the new one brings back the style of that one a bit.

The essential late October listen has been done once again.
I’ve done it every year since it came out and there is nothing else quite like it. Without question this is one of the all time greats.

The Watchmaker instrumental version, minus the last 2 minutes or so, is one of the best songs ever made I think.

very indulgent, and it works like a charm. just randomly stumbled on a "steven wilson essentials" playlist on apple music and played luminol after a good 5 years of not spinning this, and good god is it fantastic still as it was back then. need to revisit the whole thing when i have more time. this and hand cannot erase are def among the top 5 SW releases in general.

Finally relistened to this and yeah its still hits so good. This album does mean a shit ton to me as this was my first discovery after starting running a college radio station show and throughout the few years I did it, I know every track here had been played at least once. The Watchmaker loses the plot a bit at points but still has a lot of good shit within. First half is literal perfection for my tastes though.
