i can understand that but for me opeth is all about the guitar. groovy riffs and beautiful/haunting acoustics

nah man it's the vox dude the vox. some of the best growls combined with awesome cleans to provide contrast and dynamics.

like they should just have atmospheric guitars and let the drums express themselves since opeth always rocks on the drums

I wish they'd do something more rhythmically focused for a change and the drums really take over.

I tried this a long time ago but I guess I'll I needed was a little time to diversify more. Now I have

a discography to barrel my way through haha

It took me time to truly appreciate this band, but nowadays I'd say they're in my Top 20.

This album isn't one of my faves personally, but the first 3 and Heritage are tits imo.

Opeth fans are constantly disagreeing about where it's at though, so you'll have to go with your gut.
