I always thought it was weird that even during the days of this album, people were calling them a Metallica ripoff. This has more in common with A Day to Remember than Metallica, lol.

Except the total dearth of thrash influence from ADTR. The difference between the Trivium style of metalcore and the ADTR style is exactly that. Trivium grew up listening to Maiden, Death, Metallica, etc. while ADTR grew up listening to punk and hardcore. They kinda met in the massive middle-ground of metalcore that is amorphous and mostly gross now but had some great gems over the years (ex: this album, For Those Who Have Heart, insert other metalcore-y mid 00's album).
I despise that breakdowns and clean vocals lop these bands in the same pile when I despise the product of one style and adore the product of another.
