especially since they lost their best members

Yeah, I suspect most of the creativity will lie with Corey now, which will basically be another Stone Sour album

As I've said before, the way I see it, Chris and Shawn have always had the same roles throughout all four records, in that they add to the power of the drumming, which creates a more intimidating soundscape. It might be hard for some to pick up on, but it's there.
Craig had a real purpose on S/T, Iowa, and Vol. 3 in that he was responsible for much of the prevalent effects and sampling (which are hardly ever used in live shows mind you, and when they are, they could all be done by Sid on his turntables), but come AHIG, I can only think of about two tracks where he actually contributes.
Sid makes his turntables felt on the first two records, is practically mute for the entirety of Vol. 3 bar a couple tracks, and you can make him out on most AHIG tracks, which is astounding since they're hardly even nu-metal anymore.

I was never saying that Chris and Shawn do nothing, it's more they have such insignificant roles live that they must be bored. They definitely add more power to the percussion, like on Prelude 3 or The Blister Exists.
I'm well aware that it's impossible to give each member an equal playing role in the band, but you can't help but think that Sid and Craig's influences have been pushed down the pecking order

Will they be letting us hear actual music?

That even possible, man? The only thing that ever came close to 'actual music' regarding these guys was that demo I brought up earlier, and even that has its share of flaws.

The s/t has some respectable songs on it

I'm always very suspicious when a band gets a lot hate but those delivering the hate can never agree what part of the band's discography is actually worthy of this hate
bmth another good example

Album Rating: 1.5
Yeah but half the riffs on the s/t album can be played on the first few frets on the bottom two strings, the record past track 6
gets boring
Like sometimes simplicity is perfect but when you recycle the same simple ideas only a few songs apart on a record, it can be
grating

Hating slipknot hasn't been cool for like 4 years
And S/T is amazing, but Vol. 3 uses it as a footstool.

Album Rating: 1.5
I only hate this one and Iowa, S/t pretty much is just average for me and Vol: 3 like you said stands way above it
