"Like other unfortunate bands such as Television, Joy Division, The Doors, Linkin Park, and The Ramones, Mudvayne has never been able to top their debut."
I disagree about Joy Division, for me Closer is better than Unknown Pleasures (which is still great). And both albums have a 4.4 rating on Sputnikmusic.

I'm surprised Corey and Chad aren't bffs and guesting on each other's shit. They clearly had an identical shtick around this time... I sometimes wonder if this came out 1 year earlier, would Mudvayne have been Slipknot and would Slipknot have been Mudvayne?

I doubt it tbh. These guys were way too progressive and technical at the time to reach the same level of instant popularity as Slipknot did

Both bands had a member that totally outclassed them. Slipknot had Joey, Mudvayne had Ryan. I think they were on relatively equal footing, plus they had Dig as a major single.

Good ratings itt.
