NIN brings everybody together.

But for real, no problem. I am usually a lurker, but always appreciate stuff like this.

This has really grown on me since it came out. I first came here expecting Aenima 2.0 but they aren't the same people anymore.

I'm pretty sure this will grow on most the people who were initially disappointed. Every time Tool releases a record people pretend not to like it in order to appear cool for hating the greatest band in history... so it's expected that even their fans will fall for the faux negative hype. It was the same story with 10,000 Days, which had a 3.6 average rating once and now comfortably sits at 4.0 and keeps growing.

I ran 17km listening to this on the weekend after thrashing it for a year then not listening to it for a while. It's bloody good but culling voices should be shorter and have a scream in it and tempest is too long and has cringe lyrics.

100% correct opinion. Everything is 4.5 and 5.0 and then they start goofing on those two tracks.

What are the cringe lyrics in Tempest? I don't usually pay attention to lyrics.

Yeah, Culling Voices is a weak link to me here. It also has laughably the least amount of listens out of all of the songs on Spotify (not including Chocolate Chip Trip here). Actually, it's kind of funny the listen fall offs for the album. Fear Inoculum and Pneuma have the most listens (most people seem to stop listening here, or only want to listen to these two songs), followed by Invincible. Descending surprisingly doesn't have as many listens as I expected. People must get bored after Invincible. 7empest has more listens than Culling or Descending, so people must skip from Pneuma or Invincible to 7empest fairly often.

All this is showing me is that Tool should have made some of these songs shorter.

why is this thread so normcore once again is everyone sharing the same cereal or is this a fking scheme? i am tired of schemes.
the weather today was shite. humidity with a mask on is almost as stifling as tool, especially if your mask is a black mask because you are an edgelord and seek to absorb everyone's heat energy into your face
as I do

If this album was a sculpture, Johnny would deface it and throw it in a harbor.

At least this album doesn't pretend from his basement he lives in Japan for credibility points, oh.

"What are the cringe lyrics in Tempest? I don't usually pay attention to lyrics."

Starting a song with "here we go again" is pretty cringe and the lines "we're not buying your dubious state of serenity" and "calm as cookies and cream so it seems" are pretty bad.

Nobody is probably listening to descending on spotify because of the two minutes of water noises at the start of it.

I mean for how BAD this could have been, this is a really solid album given the insane hype and expectations. I still enjoy most of this.
