I don't know about anyone else, but I don't listen to Rogan for Rogan. I listen to the podcast for the good guests he has on. He's had on a lot of wonderful scientists, journalists, authors, etc. I don't care what Joe Rogan knows or doesn't know, but if he can be a good interviewer for his guests that's all I care for him to do. Rogan himself is not terribly interesting, or entertaining.

I totally understand criticism for my other favorite band - Current 93, whether you call them stinky, self-indulgent or totally unrefined. They're objectively not an excellent band, so if you criticize them coming from a superior place, that's fine, I feel ya. However, when criticizing a band like Tool, one has to perform some really ingenious mental gymnastics not to sound retarded, especially if you happen to enjoy bands like Touche Amore or Modest Mouse more.
