In fact it's reference to the Spanish conquests.

If you look, the timer is set to 10 an obvious reference to the dici revoloutionaries whose chants of favoure de cannon (favourite weapon) was heard before they pillaged villages. The knight has slayed the bishop again, a reference to military action over religion.
