It's just when you sit through the entire album. This album starts on a high note and I often find it to overstay it's welcome. Maybe is the high energized Thom Yorkesque wailing+ wall of sound consisting 50 different effects twice the impact of the Origins that is overstimulating.

to be fair 3/4 of Muse's 'good' era albums are top heavy with BH&R being the only exception (also their only album where the album tracks > singles as a collective)

"Ruled by Secrecy" would be their best song if not for the Showbiz title track. More great cuts than not in the back half imo.



Praise is due for integrating the bonus track ("Fury") into the tracklist instead of tacking it on at the end. I like to move it up a slot so it's between "Butterflies" and "Small Print" – varies the pacing a bit.
