KNY is best deftones. WP has moments that sometimes I feel live up to it. Saturday night wrist was them making those moments prettier. This album is just SNW but better. This does feel a bit like their lonely people with power. It’s nothing groundbreaking for them but damn does it feel fucking phenomenal

upped to 4.5, really the only album i care to listen to at the moment. i pretty much love every song on this one. the back half has really grown on me after being so obsessed over the first 3 or 4 songs. seriously, the run from my mind is a mountain through souvenir is insanely fucking good.

Too early to drop a rating on this for me. But it's actually up there with my favourite Deftones album Koi No Yokan, that's for sure! Album from start to finish is incredible.

definitely not as enamored with this as the rest of you seem to be. I really like it but I almost feel like I should like it less because all of you like it so much and I don't hear anything THAT special about this. It's a really enjoyable listen start to finish and like I said I like it but man the fanboyism seems to be stuck in overdrive for this band a bit on here

It being "a really enjoyable listen start to finish" is exactly why I gave it 4.5
It doesn't break new ground nor does it evolve the band's stylings, but it is a quality Deftones album that will move into my permanent rotation. I think listenability is a very undervalued feature when rating an album. I think we correlate high ratings with an album that's pushing the envelope or subverting expectations rather than associating high ratings with an album that is just consistently great from beginning to end. It's hard to get 11-track albums where every single song has something you can remember and contains zero filler.

I didn't like Gore or Ohms so not sure why this clicked with me so much lol

I see myself 5ing this in a not so distant future. Rn my 2nd fav Deftones and almost on WP level.

Is there much consensus on the favs/least fav tracks on this album? I feel like the last few tracks are so clearly way weaker than the rest, which seems weird for a Deftones album to be uneven near the end like that. I'm absolutely loving everything else though

Nah the whole album is fire to me. I remember not vibing with the opening track when it dropped as a single, but listening to the whole package has completely changed my perspective.

It definitely works song by song, but the way it works as an album is insane. The best flowing Deftones album along with White Pony.

@The Metal Meltdown on YouTube mentioned Sputnik rating alongside some others about this album’s remarkable critic scores.
Do you post here The Metal Meltdown?!
