Okay there's a lot of discourse coming from the last part

Yes, metalcore has some of the highest concentration of relatable subject matter. It's not my fault that internal mental health struggles tend to be a taboo in metal unless they're either shrouded in so much symbolism that most people won't catch it or it's just 1 song in a bands career. Most of the biggest "real metal" bands won't do it. You won't see Iron Maiden release a full album about struggling with mental health. But you will see a metalcore band do it.

Yes you've got stuff like Opeth, Katatonia, etc. but like, for some reason metalcore does it and every "real metalhead" dehumanizes the fans for relating. Sorry our lives aren't all perfect.

Metallica somehow got away with it but people will sooner talk about Kill Em All than those tracks in metal discourse tbh

yeah

crazy town's first album may be a studio hackjob where the individual parts aren't too special but when fully assembled and given polish by the dj it sounds a bit better than this

lightyears better production and cohesion at least

@johnny: They'll straight up ignore the like. 3 songs in the prime era that did it, in favor of HIIIIITTTT THEEEE LIIIIIIGHTS

@frozen: huh I checked it out of curiosity and it was one of the worst albums I've ever heard. BOTDF levels of unlistenable at points.

idk who you've seen KEAposting to an extent that counts as outright erasure for all of Fade to Black, One, Sanitarium, Frayed Ends of Sanity, Ride the Lightning, Dyers Eve, Sad But True, The Unforgiven, The Struggle Within and however many others beyond my recollection, but i'm gonna posit that whichever circles you're tuned into are off-wack
