Uber den baumen is one of the best songs ever created in bm. It’s got a such a powerful tone; an inexorable , unbrakeable tone that carries the force of winter.

Well yeah dedex fair point but ive only seen snow once so i was curious. People always take things for granted (myself included) i live next to the beach but all i do is practice guitar since i graduate in june and im studying music in college. Have to do a recital.

oh man! that's an achievement in itself. I have several friends there but yeah it's...you generally need some help. I applied to their masters program in film scoring but was cut in one of the late rounds because they wanted people with "live orchestra" experience. which, realistically, you only get from being at Berklee already.

Wow live orchestra experience that sounds very tough! So did you major in music? Im thinking about teaching once i finish. Im majoring in Popular Music which is basically Jazz, bossa nova, soul, salsa, latin jazz and etc. I played in the deans ensemble last semester it was tough.

yeah I majored in classical theory at Roger Williams U. thesis was on the relationship of popular music and music criticism. still trying to be a rock star with mixed results lol. yours sounds more useful.

I see! Classical theory thats pretty cool. My degree is in performance so thats mainly where my strength lies. Im sure there is alot of common ground tho like knowing how to use all the modes and stuff. Good luck with your music career im sure itll pay off!

modes are one of the few things we didn't cover in-depth, since they came into vogue with jazz music in the 1950's. scales were more the thing, and the relationships between them (circle of fifths, which is related to but different than modes). but yes, thank you and the same to you! keep us posted on any breakthroughs.
