"so when's the wedding for you two"
It would be a hell of a party...if we were all invited and each one of us could pick tracks for the playlist. m/m/m/

It's all North American. mostly US cities. I'm going for both bands, I missed a chance to see Intronaut in Seattle a few years ago.

Ok, I'm new to the Cult of Luna party, I'm digging this quite a lot, what album should I check next? What's the best starting point, or should I just go chronologically?

Welcome aboard ;] You'll want Salvation, followed by Highway. From there, go Beyond if you like the heavy side best or Vertikal if you're more into the atmosphere

Thanks my man! I hope is a thrilling journey

Honestly if you love atmosphere Salvation does the ambient builds better than Vertikal. The Beyond for crushing heaviness, agreed there. SATH is considered by many as their masterpiece and is a nice balance of the two contrasts.
I love Eternal Kingdom’s quirkinesses, but I’d struggle to call it essential over the others. s/t is great, but The Beyond improves upon it in almost every conceivable aspect.

Dropped the rating on this bad boy. Honestly not enough interest on an individual level here. Normally when I overplay albums, I tend to focus on individual players and really everything here just meshes like some (initially amazing) collage that nothing particularly strikes home on that level. Guitars are boring (same prototypical post-metal riffing) and pretty much vocals are kind of non-entities here. Just drums and keys really stick out, and sometimes dat crunchy ass bass. Like Lights on the Hill, that end part especially, totally lost its affect on me :[

Vertikal - salvation/the beyond and then highway if you like more the heavy stuff than ambient one. Mariner when you want, it's almost a different band.
I the weapon and vicarious redeption are amazing and a a great start.
