The 4th single just dropped in Aus, and is even better than the last three.
8 minutes and 40 seconds, no spoilers.

got some elements of Radiohead??? outro was giving old Pianos Become The Teeth. hardest Jordan has gone since Vancouver. genuinely, a fucking megaton of a track, i'm in awe

no doubt this will be better than Panorama at this rate, shaping up to be in the realm of their first 2 which is honestly something I was starting to lose hope on.

Jordan is blowing me away on this new one. Actually got me choked up a bit, hands down one of the most powerful songs they've ever written.

wow this new song is something. Never heard Jordan this angry
|

Half of the new song had me thinking it might be time for me to admit I might be done with this band. Half had me remembering why I love them.
That is to say give me more angry and energetic please (maybe even inject some energy back into the instruments please). The softer and spoken word stuff is best used sparingly bridging gaps, filling spaces, creating tension

no like...new song to me is everything i love about this band over the course of 8 minutes. this feels like the direction of panorama has been fully explored/leveled up with elements of their entire catalogue to compliment. first part builds so well, the release is one of the most impassioned parts i've ever heard, and the 2nd half has those beautiful elements of jordan veering into melodic territory but not going all the way which is one of those things that gives him so much more character. and then the outro gives us yet another climax of jordan going full throttle, like wtf. genuinely didn't think they'd get THIS heavy
dangerously good song, im trying not to overplay it. a crowning achievement for sure

Environmental Catastrophe Film is easily SOTY so far. You can't overplay it

I dove into their discography for the first time in a good while, and I think I can finally pinpoint why my ranking of their albums is so different than most (which I did kind of mention in my last post).
For the first while this band had ENERGY to go with their emotion. That was a big reason I loved them. Jordan can still bring that from time to time. But man, I can't think of a time beginning with Wildlife that the rest of the band didn't feel like they were asleep at the wheel. Are there any songs since then where the instrumentals come close to Jordan in energy, being interesting, or general goodness?

feels like they made the album they were always capable of if they hit their true potential

Extremely excited for the new album, but releasing nine songs in advance seems... anticlimactic? Think I'm going to hold off listening to III until the full drop, but stoked to hear it's just as good as I and II.

Yeah I'm not sure how I feel about them dropping the album in sequences. I don't think I'm gonna listen to any more until the full release, but I'm sure the new batch of songs is breathtakingly awesome.
Environmental will definitely be my SOTY

Im trusting the process, which i never do for releases like this but god, it’s been 6 years. Not gonna overplay until the official drop though.
