A little more "yuh yuh", but baby, that's how the public wants it! Singer-but-hardly-a-songwriter Ariana Grande hops on every possible trend of the time to create 'Thank U, Next', an album whose purpose seems to be to represent the singer's young fans she interacts with online rather than her own personality. The moan-belting vocalist keeps her voice low key in a music climate where big vocals aren't in demand.

In any case, why would anyone want to manipulate ratings on sputnikmusic.coms? New marketing strategy?

I'm guessing it was coordinated on twitter. They did it with the new Taylor too. But this time they rated a few other albums to make it more believable

this album has a lot of really good parts, especially the first three songs, but it's also more than the sum of its parts because of how cool I find the kind of minimalist "ambient" pop aesthetic (see also billie eilish? and PURE HEROINE lorde) and the gambit of having the whole album sound sort of lush and insular in equal measure. but really wow those first three songs and "ghostin". I think every song is at least ok to listen to, and most are very good
