labels are becoming less apparent as well, people can now do everything by themselves thanks to the internet and their home studios, more and more bands are going independent I've noticed

yeah, it's unfortunate though because it's still a mixed bag. Villain of the Story is barely recognized here, and The Intercedent had like 11 monthly listeners. For examples.

New song is meh. They're better at melodic stuff. Songs like this bore me after a few minutes.

I think what makes this song so interesting compared to their other heavy cuts is the amount of dynamics involved.

butt.

He's never been good.

Poor mans Rody Walker when he sings tbh.

Ye but even his harsh vocals are shot and weak.

I actually really like the debut by these guys but the novelty wore off quick.

Misha is a beast, though.

butt.

idk what you're talking about, his screams sound fantastic. his cleans are whatever, but that's just because he does the overdramatic whiny thing. But he still has an incredible range and a great voice overall. I mean just check out what he can do on tracks like Ragnarok, Luck as a Constant, etc. Even this new one has some impressive technique. I'll never understand the whole "I don't like Spencer so therefore he is bad at vocals." Dave Mustaine is not for me, at all, but I would never try and argue that Megadeth is bad?

And yeah, Misha's guitar solo here shreds the fuck out of any other metal track to come out this year so far. Everyone in this group is more talented than the entire sputnik user base combined, and that coming from a guy who has been playing guitar for 10 years. Never understood why people love to shit on this band.

It's an opinion haha, chill.

If I say I think his vox are bad then that's not fact, just what I think.

BigPleb either you've made this point in another thread or someone else has. Come on now, give us something new.

Song is 10/10 and rips a hole in the space-time continuum, but if you don't like Spencer's vox you won't like the song, he's the crux on which people decide to like or dislike Periphery

@Cosby Yeah I've said it before cos that's the best comparison for me haha.

I don't even dislike this band, just noticed there's either a lot of hate or love for these guys.

Hardly ever heard anyone describe Periphery as 'ok'.

Spencer and Rody can both have sweet core vox in harmony, they both have their strengths as vocalists and also their weaknesses

Both are polarising as well.

...if the only Periphery song you've listened to is Scarlet.

Not jammed anything post Periphery II but he sounded a lot like him on there throughout.
