Did the show make you like the album more?

I already have O'God at a 4 so yes and no. The production on the record is just so weak and dull and Cory's vocals desperately want to be Dave Verellen. Hearing those songs live, they were powerful and full of life and Cory's vocals are fucktons better now. I feel like if they were to release a live recording of this tour, I'd rather listen to that than the studio version. I like the record but it could sound so much better

Those things haven't really bothered me so much, first three Norma Jean albums are my faces.
Xing you should check out Kashee Opeiah!

I jammed Bless the Martyr for the first time in probably years the other day and it sounds a lot grittier than I remember, especially Scogin's vocals.
I will check them out. Mathcore stuff or something else?

It has shades of Meshuggah, early Norma Jean and Hopesfall with minor jazz elements as well, but it's not nearly as ridiculous as that description probably sounds. I wrote a short review for them and posted a link to my dropbox in the comments for those who want to download it.

That description sounds pretty nuts and magical but then you said not nearly as ridiculous as it probably sounds lol. Count me in!

I saw Norma on Saturday. What a killer show. The Ongoing Concept and Norma Jean really slayed live.

Sword in Mouth is such a jam rn

If Aaron had been there, that would have been mind boggling. Cory handled Aaron's spoken rant while Scogin just went ape shit screaming in the background for it until it just descended into the sludge bit from Sun Dies. Day dropped to his knees and held his guitar in the air and Cory played the chords with his fretting hand while Day did the strumming. So badass.

That sounds dope, I heard Aaron had been making an appearance on some other shows this tour though which gave me the stiffest boner of all time

I imagine he makes appearances that are closer/local to him but I live on the other side of the country from him lol

Well it's definitely chaotic and super dense, but it's all cohesive and makes sense, not like some bands that just mash a bunch of genres together for the hell of it. Hope you dig it, I've been trying to get people to check them out for years haha.

Moving this to a 4.0
It's deserving, I believe.

I can't wait to hear the new record they're working on. If it's more in the same vein as this, I will wet myself

I did not hear they were getting started on something again. Where can I see this?

Facebook.
Cory said a few months back to expect a weird one.

I dunno if I'd translate "expect a weird one" as being like this. Didn't find this to be overly weird. Intelligently accessible, but not weird.

I don't remember reading to expect a weird one but as long as it's nothing like Anti-Mother, I will be happy
