Bravo to the reviewer on this. When I first listen to Adz three years ago I had to put it away because I found it just too strange and nauseating (the way a carnival ride can be nauseating the first time you get on it) to enjoy. Just recently returned to it and cannot be more impressed and happy this was made. For all of its crazy transitions and mix of styles, the unique sound and universe created here is remarkably coherent. Learn to like this album--it's worth it!

The "Boy, We can do much more together" section of Impossible Soul is fucking majestic. Really digging this.

Crazy is definitely the right word, there are so many musical ideas crammed all over this thing. Like this review said, Sufjan's ambition is limitless, something which is sadly missing amongst the mainstream indie scene. I've still not jammed Seven Swans.

Yeah, based on the songs you and tommy showed me it would not fit the mood over here at all.

Illinois was great and all but it falls into that trap of just being way too long. The highlight (chicago, Casimir Pulaski Day,

Pallisades) are ridiculous but I rarely make it all the way through a jam without getting bored. On the other hand, there are so

many interesting ideas scattered all over this that each jam is better than the last.
