I think it's the emotion that does it for me. Both are great, I might say that they're tied.

Hackett is my second favourite guitarist ever. I think he has a lot of emotion in his playing too, particularly in songs like Firth of Fifth, the solo in The Lamia and solo tracks such as Spectral Mornings and Sierra Quemada.

Latimer is an incredible guitarist, he's probably in my top 5 of all time, I just think overall Hackett is in another league. My appreciation of Hackett's playing increased when I started exploring his solo discography.
