"But then again Tool made a whole career on the blueprint of Red, so i guess Fripp & the Boyz would also get a break on that..."
Might be the opening, or second song, but there's a guitar part that sounds so similar to Tool's "Sober". Can definitely hear how Fripp influenced Adam. I always knew Tool were influenced by Crimson, but it was wild when I heard the direct influence from this album.

I see the influence, I find it hella cool but don t find it all that similar. I like to smoke but damn you guys should spare me some of your stash. But again in other threads they say Tool ripped off Sabbath in all the riffs lmao. We all need some sleep.
Btw I was totally joking with Linkin Park. Just a joke to enhance the (i)relevance of KC making music in 2000.
Btw to have and recover influences from great artists is what makes the wheel going just right.

Haha I also love Tool and of course taking influences is very legitimate (and necessary). Just find it amazing how much of an influence 'Red' (the song) must have been to their style...
well, possibly you can track most metal bands that base their songs on riffs to Sabbath somehow, including Tool. But the link to Red is waaaaaay more direct IMO.
Haha as a soundtrack for smoking I would actually recommend 'Lizard' rather than this or Construkction.... ;)

Yea, Fallen Angel rules \m/
A fallen angel, in the dark
Never thought you'd fall so faaar!
Fallen angel, close your eyes
I won't let you fall toniiight
Fallen angel, just let go
You don't have to be alone
Fallen angel, close your eyes
I won't let you fall toniiight
Fallen angel!
The cover on here is pretty weird in comparison tbh.

Insane album though. One More Red Nightmare has a shout too. Without a doubt best KC for me.

I love how parts of this are heavier than most metal tracks and it's not even metal

Indeed, Classic album.
Survived the passage of time.

this is a good album, but I feel like the first song promises things the others don't sustain

Fallen Angel, Nightmare and Starless are better than the t/t for me, so I don't know about that
|
| |
not sure I understand that at all as a quality gripe
and as far as sustaining goes, these five songs are as pentagonal as they come - no retreads! potentially the wrong bark on the wrong tree hm.

maybe he wants an album of 5 songs doing similar things? I'm confused at what's going on, like more so than usual. Quality was not mentioned, just false promises

I mean, if that was the case I'd say Nightmare appeals to the same feeling as Red
