I've always found it odd that the story takes place in the 40's and yet the cover art has the kid wearing black nailpolish. Yeeeaaaahhh

I was never clear on whether it was a boy or a girl. The chin is very ambiguous. Also, it looks more like red nail polish.

I found it odd because I was 100% convinced it was the son in the story and having a long haired, nail polish wearing boy absolutely does not fit in with the time frame of the story. After looking it up, it seems most people have no idea if it's the son or if it's the mother. The thought never crossed my mind that it was anything other than a man so if it is the mother, the nail polish makes sense. But if it's the kid...

I've always assumed it was the mother

The features are just so masculine. I just looked at the vinyl though and I guess I'm just gonna assume the cover is the mother. The back of the record shows a 20 something man with a cigarette and the vinyl has the Prophet on one side and a priest on the other
I also learned that Kurt Ballou mixed this and Lost Ground. Sweeeeet. That would explain why they sound amazing and the other two sound like shit

that is one ugly motha

Don't worry. There is still time before she becomes too ugly to take out in public. Beat on, my son. Beat on

damn that blows
|

and it was the encore, for a moment I didn't think I'd get one
their new shit isn't great anyway but some of it is even worse in a live setting, like why the fuck would they play Bled Out over any song on this album?
