I finally got around to Through Silver and Blood and Times of Grace. TSIB kicked so much ass, Purify and Locust Star might be my all time fav Neurosis songs. I enjoyed Times of Grace, but it's melancholic moments weren't as powerful as TSIB's melancholic moments. I'd still say Enemy of the Sun is still my favorite Neurosis record, the pacing is perfect.
Also, Dave Edwardson is a really underrated bassist. His bass parts have so much texture to them. They compliment the guitars really well, instead of just copying them. The fact that he's doing vocals at the same time is doubly impressive.

@David Yowi Agreed. Even the harder parts don't sound as powerful as with Souls at Zero, EOTS and TSIB. Albini changed the sound of this band too drastically for me and I prefer the more raw production from the older records. With the exception of TEOES I rarely revisit the later material from Neurosis.

Times Of Grace seems to be really praised, my first favorite right now is TSIB, i'm checking their discog patiently starting with Souls At Zero since it's their breakthrough album

the best thing about their second album is that you can hear what von till brought to the band. to what end is easily the best song on the album and you can hear souls at zero in it.

I remember hearing it back a couple weeks ago and for some reason the intro to Raze the Stray almost made me cry. I hadn't had that reaction about the song before
