Just let it wash over you, I got into it whilst working late at night

Letting it wash over you is the best description for this album. It's an experience you just cannot forget. So much to digest here, but the album is usually best listened to split up during the course of a couple days. Like a journey.

I love several of the tracks individually, and Helpless Child is up there with being one of my favourite Swans songs since I first heard it, but the flow of this album never feels right to me. I think that the Jarboe tracks specifically (like Volcano) feel out of place, even if having a stuttered flow is what they were going for with this record

Recently re-listened to this and yep it's still like an hour+ too long, fascinating stuff but there's just sooooooo much of it
