A couple of days ago I was listening to a concert recording of AFI just after releasing DU and come to the realization that me doing that was the equivalent of my dad listening to a live Guns N’ Roses recording from just after they released appetite for destruction in 2004. Made me feel old as hell.

Yeah man i tried that a few years ago and realized the same thing only 30 seconds in to the DU DVD and earned a 10 year youth extension. AFI is no longer based, heartbreaking for some who cant accept, based walkaway for me.

"AFI is no longer based, heartbreaking for some who cant accept, based walkaway for me."

I continue to listen to every new release and dream of them getting better... saw them at 2 festivals last year (bonnaroo and riot fest) and I could feel the magic fading a bit as they exclusively played hits (miss murder, girls not grey) and brand new flop songs off their newest album.

i understand that they have to play mostly the hits for festivals but i wish that wasn't the case

mid headline set when they start breaking out the deep cuts is where the special moments are made.

when I saw them with RA they actually broke out Summer Shudder and He Who Laughs Last which was very hype

Yeah, last headline I saw them, there were some neat banger played. Seeing them at fest settings is pretty stinky though.

the approaching curve was the biggest banger when I was like 8 (if that’s what it’s called…)
