Well a big number of users on here call this the "best opeth album", "the best metal album" or even "the greatest album of all time". So based on that, he can have it rated 4.5 and still find it to be overrated

So i finally got to relistening to this and its definately better than on my first few listens. I guess listening to the rest of Opeth's discography helped. Doesnt have the same power as Still Life or Ghost Reveries but that might come with repeated listens

This album is truly great. Opeth has been terra incognita on my musical map for far too long and this is the first one I hear and it sounds promising. What I meant to ask is... where should I go from here? I mean they have a fairly formidable discography and I'm not sure where to continue. I don't think there's any huge reason for me to play safe and go for the most similar album though...
