This is really good, but it feels like too much sometimes. Still think Kezia is better.

I don't think Kezia is very good. 3/5 at most for me.

All the metalheads prefer Fortress b/c it focuses more on teh metalz and less on catchiness and pop sensibility like Kezia.

Fortress is way catchier. Rody's vocals really aren't very good on Kezia either.

Plus Fortress brings way more shred but manages to do it more tastefully than they applied it on Kezia.

I agree with everything you said about Fortress, but I still like Kezia more. It has more lasting appeal, fresher songwriting, more diversity, and not a single bad song IMO whereas there were 3 I didn't like so much on Fortress (Spoils and the goddess tracks). This Message Edited On 02.19.08

I like me the shred and "technical" vocals though.

And I think Spoils is awesome, I don't know why so many people don't like it :x

^^^That is incorrect, Kezia is more catchier and Rody vocals are great.

What you want some dime a dozen hardcore vocals, f uck that go listen to the oh so shitty August Burns Red.

Catchy is a subjective term. I found Kezia really boring and not catchy. Also, Rody's vocals improved as far as technicality goes on this release. If you don't agree you're wrong.

No, I have no idea where you got this from.

Too a point yes but not how you're applying. Kezia was crafted with more pop elements then Fortress thus coming off as more catchy. If you still don't understand I can list these elements and a quote from Rody explaining Fortress's exclussion of some catchy/pop attributes in Kezia.

Basically you, in your own opinion, can say you find Fortress more catchy but thats the only merit your statement has.

No, I have no idea where you got this from.

You were complaining about Rody's vocals i.e. his singing/screams and I was just simply making the point that Rody is a breathe of fresh air within the genre and you really can't ask for more cause the usual alternative is generic scream/grunted vocals.

I don't know how you guys come off saying Kezia had "fresh" songwriting when every song pretty much has the same formula.

The songwriting is fresh on Kezia to me because I haven't heard anything quite like it. It's kind of like even though Fortress is an extension of Kezia's super fast and complex songwriting, Kezia came out first and therefor is more groundbreaking. I had never heard such an eargasmic combination of metal, thrash, punk, hardcore and poppy metal.

I don't think people are really grasping the concept of catchy. This Message Edited On 02.19.08

Also, regarding when Chan said how can I think the songwriting is fresher on Kezia when all the songs have the same formula: Kezia's songs do have a similar formula, but the formula consists of constantly changing music. So it's same-y but not at the same time IMO.

This is catchier than Kezia. The hooks are way better. And the songwriting on here is way better than it was on Kezia; I don't know how you guys come off saying Kezia had "fresh" songwriting when every song pretty much has the same formula.
